Kristen, You are right-on in your minimalist thinking. We went through a simular expierence when we moved from a very large house to a small appartment. My wife and I have been married for 41 years. It is amazing how much junk you collect in that period of time. When you have to down size, it really makes you look at something and ask yourself: Do I really need this?

Anyway, your post is very insightful and interesting. Great Job!!!

@Danielle -- Thank you. Mostly what I remember about having a cerebrospinal fluid leak is the constant throbbing headaches. They seemed to be alleviated some while I was lying down. While standing or sitting upright I felt dizzy, and I was also experiencing a lot of clear fluid drainage from my nose.

I just had radiation therapy a few months ago to hopefully kill anything that might be left after my latest surgery--the craniotomy. My doctor said it likely caused more damage to the healthy cells as well, so it is possible that I may need to actually increase and/or add to my list of medications.

It would be nice if you could stop the hormone drugs, or at least reduce them. I understand your anxiety, and I'm sorry it's causing you such frustration. It's nice to find others who are going through the same thing and to be able to support each other.

Sure, Danielle. It surprises me that there could be such a long delay between surgery and a spinal fluid leak. Fortunately mine wasn't so serious as to require another hospital visit.

@Danielle -- They removed as much of the tumor as they could, but they didn't get all of it. What was left after each surgery continued to grow.

I was wondering how you knew you were having a CSF leak? The hospital where I had my surgery is a teaching hospital, which is awesome, but I feel like I got a lot of different answers to my questions. This leak and the worry of the tumor grawing back is my greatest now. Also I am still on my hormone drugs and they added one more since the surgery. I am taking the cabergoline you mention earlier because I had a prolactinoma. My goals are to stop taking the meds, have no leak and have the tumor completly gone. My doctor won't do a scan on me for another 5 months which is frustrating. I am very glad to have found your blog, thank you so much for sharing. I hope you are doing well!

Danielle agian, I was wondering if your tumor started growing back after the first time you got it removed, or if it is something that was growing before the surgery?

Hi, my name is Danielle. I just happened to find this when I was looking up info on nose packing. A month ago I had the same surgery you had in Albany. My ENT doc. gave me self disolving nose packing and it's all starting to come up now. Gross. In your writing it said you had this surgery multiple times? One of my risks the doc. said was a CSF leak. I hope I don't have one. He said it could happen 1- even 6 months after surgery though 6 months would be rare. I've never talked to any one with this tumor before, or who went through this surgery. Maybe you could email me a little more about how your recovery went and how your doing now?

From what I understand Pollyanna Principle is about the Positive Bias and it has nothing to do about 'the abused children into adulthood' since it is an -ve thing.

Do Correct me if I am wrong.
